Believe it or not, there's a land of rainbows, teddy bears and ponies tucked away in a brighter corner of Sanctuary. You'll need to gather up some rare ingredients to craft the Staff of Herding that's needed for opening the portal, however, and there are few clues to help you get started.
Here's our quick guide to gathering all the items you need, and preparing for pony warfare. Note that if you're playing the game on PC and have stumbled across this guide, you'll also need to find the following additional ingredients. As for the recipe, you'll need to kill Izual in Act 4 to get your hands on it, although you might have to do this a few times as it's not a guaranteed drop.
When you've got the recipe and all the ingredients you need, head to Haedrig the Blacksmith, teach him the recipe, then craft the Staff of Herding. Need more Diablo 3 help? Once you've got a Staff of Herding in your inventory, head to the Act 1 camp and then portal over to The Old Ruins waypoint. From here, head west but keep hugging the southern-most part of the screen. Eventually you'll reach a glowing chasm in the ground, with a spectral cow standing nearby.

I would like to thank you for the guide and help all others with this: Unfortunately, there is a chance not to loot the liquid rainbow. Dont worry , take the teleport after you clean all the cave and go outside the cave. Talk to Zaven the alchemist, sell all the staff you dont wanna keep and then make a teleport near Zaven.
Go to Hidden camp and then leave game and then resume again. Take the Path to the Oasis and Zaven will be there again!!! It worked for me 4 times, so the item dropped!! I need the Gibbering Gemstone I went to the same place 50 times now and kill the monster and no item on the Xbox Zaven must be like very very very very rare. I had personally tried this and found him 3 time in a row.
I must really share this. Just Repeat the whole process until you found him.. Chiltara just spawned for in the southwest location. It is very random. Thanks for all the info. Pro Tech, I hate you. Anyone else have problems getting the shinbone. I have kill thew mob for the Gibbering Gemstone 4 times and it has not droped once… did they change the drop rate?
It seems Blizzard did something to tamper with the drop rate in Patch 2. You solved all my problems. For real. Thanks man, you are Tyrael in person lol. So why do they even drop in the PlayStation 3 version.
I got the shin bone, mushrooms, and liquid rainbow as random drops without even knowing what they were for. I tossed them in the bank and looked them up to find out what they were for later….
